Nokia Asha 200 Review

Dual-SIM phones, as the name suggests, can work with two SIM cards simultaneously, which is basically like having two phones fused into a single device.

The budget-friendly Nokia Asha 200 is such a phone, and teenage users are its primary target. Among its main selling points are the portrait QWERTY keyboard for quick and easy texting and integration of social networking features.

Nokia Rich Recording in Nokia 808 PureView Explained

The world’s first implementation of Nokia Rich Recording technology in Nokia 808 PureView http://nokia.ly/yOTcAF records best in class stereo audio with every detail.

Whilst most high end smartphones can only record without distortion to around 110db, the Nokia 808 can comfortably continue to around 140-145 db, which is 4 times louder than the conventional mics can record.

Apart from that Nokia Rich Recording can also record very low frequencies also without any distortion. The combination of all of these elements means the Nokia 808 records audio with almost CD like quality. It has to be heard to be believed.

No Nokia 808 PureView for North American Markets

Citing an image from Nokia’s own developer site, one can clearly see that the North American Market is excluded from the global release.  It seems strange that Nokia would leave out one of the biggest markets in the world, especially when it’s trying to make a comeback.  This device would have been perfect if Nokia’s intentions were to bring Symbian back from the dead.  Then again, Symbian never had a huge following in the North American market to begin with.  This may very well be a dying platform and this is probably a good sign that Nokia will slowly let it die after the 808 PureView.  With their recent commitments to the Windows Phone 7 platform, it probably would have conflicted with their North American strategy.
