‘Angry Birds’ will be optimized for Windows Phones with 256MB of RAM says Nokia

Following on yesterday’s news, if you thought it was shame that Nokia’s Lumia 610 wouldn’t support a couple popular apps and games like Angry Birds because of the limited 256MB of RAM, here’s good news for ya.

Nokia has said that there will be an optimized version of Angry Birds coming for Lumia 610 that will deal with the 256 MB memory restriction. According to Nokia Conversations editor, Heidi Lemmetyinen, the updated game isn’t available yet, but is definitely on the way. No word on the other apps in the list though.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II Hands-on & Ken Balough Interview (Direct Gameplay)

Even though we liked Sonic 4: Episode I, some of the blue bomber’s fanbase didn’t take kindly to the modern-era modifications to the classic formula. With nearly two years between the downloadable episodes, Sega’s made some tweaks to the Sonic 4-mula in order to create an experience on par with the much-beloved XBLA revival of Sonic CD.

While it may not be immediately noticeable to Sonic neophytes, the physics have been tweaked to create a gameplay style more in line with the hedgehog’s 16-bit outings. The game’s overhauled momentum will allow for some of the more natural movement that Episode I eschewed. You won’t be able to stop Sonic on a dime going downhill, nor will he stop moving during a jump if you release the direction. It’s been tough for today’s teams to capture that secret ingredient that made the Sonic games of the early 90s feel just right, but our time with the game has us feeling like Sega is closer than ever before.

There’s more than just the momentum to put Episode II in our wheelhouse. The game is set shortly after the events of Sonic CD, and Dimps has promised that the events of said classic will play a part in the upcoming release (hopefully in the form of stage selection). Even better, Tails will join the party, Sonic 2-style, allowing for stronger spin attacks and the ability to glide over precarious sections present in Episode II. And yes, just like in 1992, a second player can take limited control of the sidekick while Sonic does the heavy lifting. Episode II can’t arrive fast enough for our liking.
